CENTRAL BANK OFFICER’S UNION .ANDHRA PRADESH  TOOK BIRTH ON 29^TH  OCTOBER  1983 AMIDS SLOGANS OF OFFICERS – WORKMEN UNITY ZINDABAD.

29 th October 1983 was a historic day in the annals of Central Bank employees’ Trade Union movement of Andhra Pradesh. On that day the Hyderabad Main Office and Secunderabad Offices were fully decorated with AIBEA and AIBOA buntings.It was a feast to everyone to look at the both places.

 The placards with some of the important pending issues of officers taken up by AICBEF and AIBOA  were put at the meeting place. They were payment  of conveyance allowance, fair Transfer policy, expediting of review petitions of all scales, Posting of all small branches with Scale II officers, wage revision with fair HRA al all places.Etc.

 Com.A.Narendra ,one of the senior most member of the trade union movement in Central Bank of India, AP ,Vice President of AIBOA and Vice President of CBIEA.AP has been conferred the privilege of presiding over the HISTORIC meeting.Comrades Lakkaraju Hanmanth Rao,Chairman,officers Cell C V Raghuveer,Convenor Officers Cell, L C  Chander Rao,President of CBIEA and BBD Chary, Secretary were present on the dias.

 Com.A.Sundar Rao ,Convenor of the meeting welcomed the officers to the first General Body Meeting where large number of workmen staff and officers have participated from all parts of the state.  Com Sundara Rao dealt  at length the growth of Trade Union movement from the Foundation Day of AIBEA i.e 20^th April 1946. and the struggles launched by AIBEA for fair Promotin Policy enabling substaff members to become clerical staff and clerical staff to Officer staff.It was also  mentioned by him that AIBEA has launched the powerful  movement popularly known as “WORK TO RULE “ in 1964 and brought new era in Trade union movement.

With the growth of officers in their numbers ,their problems also mounted up. AIBEA was advocating all its units to start Trade Unions for officers and AIBEA wanted Officers Union to develop friendship and Fraternity with workmen unions.It was in the interest of both officers as well as workmen.

It was with the intention AIBEA has sponsored “ALL INDIA BANK OFFICERS ‘ ASSOCIATION “ in the meeting held at NAGPUR in February 1981.

In our Bank AICBEF has called upon all its affiliates to form separate union fo Officers.It was not a small task to separate the officers from all cadre organization.Our all cadre organization in AP has achieved a pride place by working for the growth of the institution as well as fighting for improving the service conditions.

We could not wait for a long and to fall in line with others to respond to the call given by AIBEA and AICBEF steps were taken by the Managing committee of CBI employees association (CBIEA) ,Andhra Pradesh directing Com. A.Sundara Rao to convene a meeting for forming Officers’ union separately on 29^th October 1983.

The draft constitution was read out by Com. C V Raghuveer .The name of the union as per the constitution is CENTRAL BANK OFFICERS’ UNION, ANDHRA PRADESH. When this was adopted unanimously ,Com .Lakkaraju Hanmantha Rao Chairman of officer cell of CBIEA has unfolded the banner of CENTRAL BANK OFFICERS’UNION,ANDHRA PRADESH, amidst the slogans of CENTRAL BANK OFFICERS UNION ZINDABAD, AIBEA ZINDABAD, AIBOA ZINDABAD ,AICBEF ZINDABAD,CBIEA ZINDABAD & OFFICER-WORKMEN UNITY ZINDABAD and announcing the birth of “CENTRAL BANK OFFICERS’ UNION,ANDHRA PRADESH”.STANDS  AFFILIATED TO ALL INDIA BANK OFFICERS’ASSOSIATION   &   ALL INDIA CENTRAL BANK EMPLOYEES ‘ FEDERATION.
