  • COMMITTEE DELIBERATED ON BANK’S HEALTH AND PENDING ISSUES

The Joint Working Committee Meeting of CBIEA & CBOU was held at Hotel Siddhartha on 23rd September, 2012. The meeting commenced under the Joint Presidium of Com.Y Srinivasa Rao, President, CBIEA and Com.G Syam Babu, President, CBOU. After the initial remarks by the Presidium, the agenda of the meeting was initiated.

Com.B S Rambabu, General Secretary, AICBEF and Chairman of our Association gave a detailed reporting on the bank’s performance since March, 2012, attitude of the management towards the genuine pending issues of employees like introduction of conveyance reimbursement facility and furniture  to award staff etc. updates on 10th bipartite wage revision, deliberations of the General Council and Central Committee meetings of AIBEA etc. He congratulated the employees and officers for making the two days’ strike on 22nd and 23rd August, 2012 a total success.

While drawing the attention of the committee, he explained in detail about the agitation launched by AICBEF demanding release of promotions to clerical cadre under AIS as well as seniority based. He congratulated all the units and employees for scrupulously following the instructions in sending SMS to the executives including Chairman and Managing Director, Executive Directors demanding release of promotions to clerical cadre. He exposed the ugly role played by the miniscule INBEF organization in denying the promotions to clerks through litigations by approaching the ALC and Hon’ble High Court of Mumbai. He explained in detail about the efforts made by AICBEF for introduction of conveyance reimbursement facility and furniture facility to award staff and assured that he would put all out efforts in securing the just demands of the award staff.  While concluding, he congratulated the Scale I and Scale II promotees and advised them to work sincerely for the development of the bank.

Com.P Udaya Bhaskar, General Secretary, CBIEA placed the activities of our organization since last conference held on 26th February, 2012. Addressing the joint session, he informed that Hyderabad zone is performing well comparatively with other zones and we are 4th in performance of the zones. He further emphasized the need for putting more efforts to bring new clientele and business in CASA  and concentrating on recovery of Non Performing Assets.  He has drawn the attention of the house about the various issues taken up in the joint discussions held with Regional Offices Hyderabad and Vijayawada. Joint discussions with Regional Management Visakhapatnam could not take place and informed that discussions shall be held shortly. He Congratulated employees for enthusiastically participating in two days’ strike on 22nd and 23rd August, 2012 and making it a big success. He cautioned that more and more attacks are in the offing in the form of outsourcing of bank jobs, opening of ultra small branches, dangers in the form of Khandelwal committee recommendations etc.

Com.P Venugopal Rao, General Secretary, CBOU  has reported the developments since last Conference held in February, 2012 . He congratulated the officers for making the two days’ strike a total success. He congratulated the officers promoted from Scale I to II and Scale II to III and advised them to put in extra efforts for making Hyderabad Zone as number one zone in the country. He informed that CBOU is gaining strength day by day and very soon our union will become the only organization representing officers’ community in Andhra Pradesh like the award staff organization CBIEA. As on date, CBOU is having more than 320 members and another 100 plus members are in the other camp, he said. He appealed that officers who are not with us should be baptized to CBOU as we are the only organization attending to the grievances of the officers’ in Andhra Pradesh.  While concluding, he appreciated the efforts made by Com M Mallikarjuna Rao, Manager, Regional Office, Hyderabad and his active role in recovering the money in Currency Chest, Visakhapatnam theft case. 

DELIBERATIONS ON THE AGENDA :  Committee Members have atlength deliberated on the agenda and drawn the attention of the house about various problems confronting the employees and officers viz. non supply of passbook printers and  note counting machines, frequent power cut resulting in dislocation of work at branches, failure of UPS systems etc, Connectivity problems in rural and semi-urban branches, lack of basic amenities and inadequate space for staff at Regional Office, Hyderabad. Members have demanded introduction of conveyance reimbursement facility and furniture facility to award staff as is done in case of officers in our bank.  The following members have participated in the deliberations :

CONCLUSION : The meeting praised and congratulated the role played by Com.Rambabu for clearing the road blocks and paving the way to complete the promotion process of A I S and seniority channel promotions to clerical cadre. Committee has congratulated the successful candidates of A I S and wished them all success in the interview.The meeting expressed its displeasure over the unconcerned attitude of the regional managements at Hyderabad, Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam in not providing the generators and invertors to branches due to severe power cut  problem in Andhra Pradesh and demanded immediate supply of generators and invertors failing which serious organizational steps would be initiated for realization of just demand.

PRAISE WORTHY EFFORTS: The meeting appreciated the hard work done by our comrades in opening more than 4000 accounts together at Itkyal, Challur and Raipole Branches with lead role taken by Com Karthik, Com Jogaiah and Com Kareem.  The meeting also appreciated our comrades for mobilising 130 crores business at Vanasthalipuram Branch under the leadership of Com Phani Kumar and Com P K Sastry.   

CO-OPTIONS IN CBOU: 1.  Com Y Trinesh, Sr Manager, Tadepalligudem has been coopted as Deputy Regional Secretary of Visakhapatnam Region and Com A  B V L Narasimham Manager (I.T.), Regional Office, Hyderabad has been coopted as Deputy Regional Secretary of Hyderabad Region.

RESOLUTIONS : The meeting unanimously passed the following resolutions.

·         Hailing the role played by Com. B S Rambabu and AICBEF in securing various benefits to employees viz. newspaper reimbursement to all award staff, conversion of all part time employees to FTSKs, reintroduction of seniority channel promotions to clerical staff to officer cadre, large scale recruitment of clerks, substaff and FTSK-cum-Substaff etc.
·         Demanding introduction of conveyance reimbursement facility to award staff in lines of scheme available to officers.
·         Demanding introduction of furniture facility to award staff  in lines available to officers.
