ENHANCED MEDICAL BILL REIMBURSEMENT




target="_blank" Scheme for reimbursement of additional medical expenses to employees/dependents suffering from illness leading to hospitalization and/or domiciliary treatment 


 The existing ceiling on reimbursement under this scheme ie., Rs.3.00 lacs per annum per staff member (including all eligible dependents) stands enhanced to Rs.4.00 lacs, in case of claims under this Scheme, in respect of ‘Cancer’ disease, only. This is applicable w.e.f 1.4.2012.

 In addition to the existing diseases/ailments listed out in the Scheme for reimbursement of expenses for domiciliary treatment, one more disease/ailment viz., ‘Muscular Dystrophy’

 The facility of reimbursement of the cost of Physiotherapy charges (upto the same limit i.e.Rs.200/- per sitting) which has been hitherto applicable to staff member only, stands extended to “Spouse” also. However, the total amount of reimbursement for this purpose in respect of spouse shall not exceed Rs.3,000/- p.a. This is applicable with effect from 01.04.2012. The same may also be extended to the cases prior to 01.04.2012 but were declined as there was no such provision at the relevant point of time; subject to member’s specific request within 2 months from the date of the meeting ie., from 26.9.12. However, in respect of the requests already pending with SAD, the concerned members need not apply again.

 In respect of Officers and Clerical staff, the amount of reimbursement under this Scheme shall be entertained only if such amount is Rs.500/- and above for each claim. Needless to clarify that the clubbing of the claims (of two or more occasions) will not be entertained, as it may lead to violation of this decision. However, in respect of sub-staff no such minimum amount is prescribed. This decision is applicable w.e.f 26.9.2012 ie., in respect of claims submitted at the branch/office on or after 26.9.2012.

b) Scheme for reimbursement of Hospitalization expenses to retired employees :

 Ceiling on reimbursement of Hospitalization expenses/Mediclaim Policy premium for retired employees and/or their spouses stand reduced to Rs.5,000/- from Rs.10,000/- with effect from 26.9.2012 ie., in respect of the amount incurred by the retired employees on or after 26.9.12.

 The claims still pending, if any, at any level (ie., at CO/ZO/RO/Branch) relating to the last financial year ended 31.3.12, and/or the claims relating to the last financial year ended 31.3.12 which are yet to be submitted by the retired staff members, will not be entertained.

 Once the amount of reimbursement reached to the extent of total amount budgeted under the scheme, ie., Rs.1.50 crores, the reimbursement will be stopped, even though such situation occurs at any time during the current financial year. For this purpose the reimbursement shall be on “firstcum first serve” basis
