The Reserve Bank of India today released the financial material for use by banks and other stakeholders in six more regional languages, namely, Gujarati, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi and Tamil.
The Reserve Bank had, on January 31, 2013 released the Financial Literacy Material consisting of Financial Literacy Guide,Financial Diary and a set of 16 posters for use by banks and all other stakeholders in two languages, namely, Hindi and English. In November 2013, the material was released in four more regional languages, namely, Bengali, Kannada, Telugu and Urdu. The material in Assamese will be released shortly.
The financial literacy material is thus available now in 12 languages. The entire set of material can be downloaded from RBI website: (http://www.rbi.org.in/financialeducation/FinancialLiteracyGuide.aspx).
Banks are required to use this material while conducting financial literacy camps as per the Reserve Bank’s operational guidelines. They may approach the State Level Bankers' Committee (SLBC) of respective states for supply of the printed material.
